Our clients are principle Building, Refurbishment and Framework contract specialists operating across multiple market sectors throughout the Midlands. Following recent success, they're currently looking to recruit an ambitious Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their team in the West Midlands.

They're ideally looking for someone either recently graduated or still completing their degree on a day release basis and ideally with at least 6 months previous experience in a contractor environment. You will be working as part of a small team involved on a wide range of projects throughout the Midlands.

Qualifications/Experience:
- BSc Quantity Surveying degree (or working towards)
- Minimum of 6 months previous QS experience
- Strong communication skills
- Strong IT skills

You will have the opportunity to join one of their offices and become part of a small close knit team, and help grow, develop and shape this regional office. They provide a range of cost consultancy and project management services throughout various sectors. They are currently looking for an intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their team in the West Midlands. The Role: The Quantity Surveyor will be capable of working with the minimum of supervision in all areas of Cost Management including but not limited to: -Preparing budget estimates/cost plans -Preparation of tender documents, tender evaluation and reports -Interim valuations -Cost reports and final accounts -Effective variation control -Reporting direct to clients including presentations Skills/Qualifications Required: -Relevant Degree (preferably RICS accredited) -MRICS or desire to become chartered -Good IT literacy, particularly in respect of preparing spreadsheets -Excellent standards of numeracy and literacy skills -Ability to communicate effectively at a high technical level with members of the design team -Capable of working to strict targets and timescales -Robust and strong attitude to negotiations with contractors -Ability to challenge designs and suggest sustainable alternative economic design solutions, and communicate with design team Person Specification: -At least 3 years experience of Cost Management that will demonstrate the duties can be carried out as stated -Professional, self-motivated and proactive with excellent organisational skills -Ability to communicate confidently with clients, contractors and consultants -Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision but also work effectively within a team -Ability to prioritise workload and meet stringent deadlines with a flexible attitude to work
