Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Our clients are a well-established Fit-Out and Refurbishment contractor specialising in fast track retail office and shop fitting projects throughout the country. As they continue to expand, they are currently looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team in the West Midlands.

They're ideally looking for an ambitious Assistant QS with a minimum of 12 months experience to join their team delivering Fit Out and Refurb projects nationwide with projects generally ranging in value from £100k to £3m. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor working on an exciting variety of projects with excellent training and genuine career development prospects to develop your career within the company.

The role will involve (but not limited to):
- On & off site measuring
- Manage a number of projects at differing stages of a process
- Generate tenders with PM Team
- Breakdown drawings into work packages
- Attend Meetings with Client and Team
- Prepare, negotiate and analyse costs for tenders and contractors
- Prepare Bills of Quantities
- Allocate work to sub-contractors and prepare orders
- Value completed work and report to Commercial Lead
- Conduct site visits and review works and drawings

Desirable
- Minimum 12 months previous experience
- BSc Quantity Surveying Degree or HNC in Construction
- Proven industry knowledge in Shop fitting is desirable but not essential
- Strong IT skills, particularly Excel
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety on site
- CSCS card
- Asbestos awareness training
- Fit out experience
- Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of organisation
- Experience with JCT contracts
