Assistant Landscape Architect

Our client is an established consultancy undertaking a wide range of assignments, providing practical and innovative designs, for clients in the private, public and corporate sectors.

Due to expansion, they are currently looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Landscape Architect to join their team in East Sussex.

You will be required to work on a varied portfolio of projects and actively participate in the continued growth of the business.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
-Part IV qualified or equivalent
-At least two to three years experience
-Proficiency in CAD and hard landscape design/construction
-Have experience working on a wide range of projects
-Be able to work well as part of a team, and have good communication skills

Our client is a large Multi-Disciplinary, Environmental Design Consultancy that provides comprehensive, integrated services to their clients in urban and landscape design and environmental planning. They are currently engaged in a variety of very exciting projects both under construction and at planning application stage. Projects involved in include residential, public realm, educational and high-end private schemes and are now in need of a CMLI or Senior Landscape Architect to join the team at their Sussex office. Ideally the successful candidate would be a CMLI landscape architect with at least 4 years UK experience. Role responsibilities will include delivering Planning Applications, completing detailed design packages and attending construction sites. Applicants must have a degree in Landscape Architecture and have a Postgrad Part IV qualification. This experience must have involved master planning and public realm projects as well as project management and staff supervision and coordination. Our clients are an independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants and technical specialists offering a broad range of professional services. They have a diverse workload of high profile international and UK projects ranging from environmental infrastructure design and major transportation projects through to restoration, town centre regeneration, streetscape design and green roofs. Due to expansion of their services they are seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to be based in their Sussex Office. The role includes: reporting on a day-to-day basis to the Associate Landscape Architect and working with others in the team or multi-disciplinary project teams, as required; being responsible to the Environment Director for technical and business performance; responsibility for mentoring junior staff and assisting with business development; liaising with others in the environmental team as well as with other Environmental Specialists in other company offices and actively participating in networking. There may also be a requirement to work in other areas of the UK and Europe, on a short term basis. The successful candidate will: be a Chartered Landscape Architect with a range of experience on landscape assessment, design, strategy and implementation schemes: have extensive post Chartered experience and expertise that fuses strong design skills with preparation and delivery of LVIA's; have experience of urban design and transport related projects and experience of undertaking EIA and landscape assessment; be able to work as part of multi-disciplinary teams providing specialist input at all stages on a wide variety of projects . The ideal applicant: will be able to work in a team in a multi-disciplinary environment; have good CAD and Adobe design package skills; have a good freehand drawing style; confidence in delivering landscape led design solutions; good report writing skills; will be able to manage their time effectively, juggling the demands and delivering high quality projects on time and to budget. Experience of working on infrastructure projects and for a consultancy will be an advantage.
