Senior Building Surveyor

Due to an increase of work and projects (refurbishment and new build) my client is looking to recruit a Senior Building Surveyor to join their Building Consultancy team.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and be responsible for the delivery of the following services:

- Condition Surveys
- Building Surveys/Due Diligence
- Schedules of Condition
- Licences to Alter
- Feasibility Studies
- Design/Refurbishment
- Contract Administration/Project Management/Employers Agent
- Planned Preventative Maintenance/Asset Management
- Schedules of Dilapidations (Both Landlord and Tenant)
- Reactive Maintenance surveys
- Building Pathology
- Statutory Reviews (Health/Safety/Fire/Equality Act)
- Energy Performance
- Reinstatement Cost Assessment
- Planning/Building Control Matters
- Heritage and Listed Building Matters
- Party Wall Advice

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

- MRICS preferable or MCIOB
- Minimum 5 years' PQE in the property and construction industry
- Comprehensive knowledge of building pathology, construction detail and legal/regulatory requirements in relation to the built environment
- Good communication skills
- Ability to self-manage as well as working as part of an integrated team
- Capable of assisting in the management of a small team and mentoring of junior colleagues
- Proficient in the use of IT including Microsoft Applications, hand-held devices and AutoCAD or similar
- Hold a valid, clean driver's licence

Due to increased project work in Hertfordshire and surrounding areas there is a requirement for an additional Building Surveyor to join the team. The role will be office based but will have the option for some home working when needed. There are some skills required to be successful in your application: You will ideally be MRICS Building Surveyor but if you have solid experience in a similar role all applications will be considered. You must have experience in: > Design > Specification and project management > Dilapidations > Party wall > Defects diagnosis/reports. Salary offered to the successful candidate will be in the region of £45k negotiable depending on experience and qualifications, plus a car and company healthcare.
