Chartered Building Surveyor

£35,000 - £45,000
Due to expansion a Chartered Surveyor Consultancy with offices throughout the UK are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Building Surveyor to join their team in Manchester. You will be working on a number of framework mandates as well as a variety of major commercial projects. The role will give the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to develop their existing experience, knowledge and skill base working on a variety of interesting and challenging projects.

The services you will be expected to deliver include:

Building Surveys
Technical Due Diligence
Neighbourly Matters
Quality Monitoring
Design and Contract Administration
Project Management of refurbished Schemes

You must have a Building Surveying related degree with experience of managing projects with a very good understanding of current legislation and Building Regulations.

Priority will be given to those who are Chartered, MRICS or already enrolled in APC.

The role will be to provide support to the activities of the Team, and the Firm, in achieving targeted fee income and will include: - Preparing specifications, tendering and monitoring constructions works on site - Preparing drawings on Auto CAD for projects - Preparing and negotiating schedules of dilapidations - Preparing schedules of condition and assessing claims post works - Residential and commercial stock condition surveys - Party Wall work- Planning and Building Regulation applications - Measured Surveys of Land and Buildings - Project monitoring of new build schemes on behalf of Funders, and prospective Tenants and Purchasers - Preparing feasibility studies and sketch scheme designs for a wide variety of building types - Preparing Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedules - Professional work as designated according to experience - Assistance with other professional building surveying projects - Providing support for more junior members of the support team - Development of existing Clients - Compliance with Company standards and procedures To be successful in your application you must meet the following criteria: - Qualified Member of the RICS, with minimum 1 years' PQE - Ideally have previous experience within a commercial consultancy - A willingness to undertake local and firm-wide business development initiatives, and increase develop the building consultancy service delivered - Pro-active self-starter with good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing - The ability to manage time effectively, prioritising tasks to ensure that deadlines are met - The ability to produce clear and concise written reports and recommendations - Building Surveys and Schedules of Condition - Planning and Building Regulations - Experience in the design and refurbishment of buildings and administration of Building Contracts - Defect Analysis - Identifying & analysing building pathology, preparing technical reports - Dilapidation claim experience with ability to read and understand lease covenants - Party Wall work - Experience in health and safety procedures, CDM and DDA - A full driving licence is essential If you don't have the relevant skills required for this particular position please get in contact as we have other Building Surveying and General Practice vacancies throughout the UK from Graduate level to Director/Partner, some of which are not advertised due to the clients request.
