Building Surveyor ideally with 1 year of PQE

My client is a highly successful Property Consultancy who are looking to expand their Building Consultancy department with an additional Building Surveyor to join the team.

The purpose of the role is to deliver building consultancy services to a range of commercial and public sector clients ensuring appropriate fee income.

The role will be to provide support to the activities of the Team, and the Firm, in achieving targeted fee income and will include:

- Preparing specifications, tendering and monitoring constructions works on site
- Preparing drawings on Auto CAD for projects
- Preparing and negotiating schedules of dilapidations
- Preparing schedules of condition and assessing claims post works
- Residential and commercial stock condition surveys
- Party Wall work- Planning and Building Regulation applications
- Measured Surveys of Land and Buildings
- Project monitoring of new build schemes on behalf of Funders, and prospective Tenants and Purchasers
- Preparing feasibility studies and sketch scheme designs for a wide variety of building types
- Preparing Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedules
- Professional work as designated according to experience
- Assistance with other professional building surveying projects
- Providing support for more junior members of the support team
- Development of existing Clients
- Compliance with Company standards and procedures

To be successful in your application you must meet the following criteria:

- Qualified Member of the RICS, with minimum 1 years' PQE
- Ideally have previous experience within a commercial consultancy
- A willingness to undertake local and firm-wide business development initiatives, and increase develop the building consultancy service delivered
- Pro-active self-starter with good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- The ability to manage time effectively, prioritising tasks to ensure that deadlines are met
- The ability to produce clear and concise written reports and recommendations
- Building Surveys and Schedules of Condition
- Planning and Building Regulations
- Experience in the design and refurbishment of buildings and administration of Building Contracts
- Defect Analysis - Identifying & analysing building pathology, preparing technical reports
- Dilapidation claim experience with ability to read and understand lease covenants
- Party Wall work
- Experience in health and safety procedures, CDM and DDA
- A full driving licence is essential
