Our client is a Multidisciplinary Consultancy who are involved in a wide range of projects throughout the UK. They are now looking to recruit an Experienced Senior Ecologist to work out of their office in Central Scotland.
Ecology services provided include Protected and other species surveys, Vegetation and habitat surveys, Ecological desk studies and scoping exercises, Ecological Impact Assessments and Habitat management. Other areas include Long-term monitoring of habitats and species, BRE Environmental Assessment Method and Biodiversity Benchmark Assessments.
Role responsibilities as a Senior Ecologist will include the co-ordination and supervision of Field and Assistant Ecologists to ensure projects are performed and delivered to the highest possible standard, Field work including Phase 1 habitat surveys and protected species work, contributing to the promotion and development of the company's ecological services and mentoring junior team members.
Essential requirements for the Senior Ecologist position;
-Degree in a related subject
-Four years' experience in ecological consultancy
-Experienced in Phase 1 Habitat Assessment and Protected Species Surveys
-Exceptional Knowledge of British flora and fauna
-Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail
-Understanding of wildlife legislation and the planning system
-Bat Survey Licence (Level 2)
-Full driving licence
