Urban Designer - Gloucestershire

Our Client is a leading interdisciplinary practice of architects, designers and engineers that work on a variety of exciting projects across multiple sectors.

Currently seeking to recruit an Urban Designer with some good design experience for their Gloucestershire studio to assist on a range of projects. You will work alongside town planners, architects, landscape architects and other professionals on a wide variety of exciting projects. The work involved includes masterplans, regeneration frameworks for both public and private sector clients both in the UK and around the world.

What the role requires:

You will be an urban designer with some sound experience gained at a reputable practice. You will have a strong academic background along with a passion for urban design, regeneration and sustainability, and will be enthusiastic about delivering design.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic team player, who will enjoy working in a collaborative team environment to tight deadlines and demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels and backgrounds, including the design team, clients and external consultants.

Our client is a very reputable client focused Independent Town Planning and Development Consultancy who are seeking a talented Senior Planner for their Gloucestershire Office. The successful candidate will have preferably 5 years experience in the planning industry, experience managing or at least mentoring junior staff, competent in report and letter writing and a strong aptitude for the use of office based software. As a Senior Planner you will be responsible for supportive role including tenders and project work, supporting marketing and business development activities for new work in conjunction with senior staff and undertake planning application work. Ideally RTPI or RICS (P&D) qualified There is a generous package on offer circa £30-£40K pa depending on experience, plus pension, health insurance and annual bonus. Due to business growth and a series of successful planning developments, our client is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Planner to join their Gloucestershire-based team. The Assistant Town Planner will work alongside a highly experienced professional on a broad range of projects but will be particularly involved in a major wind farm development in the South West. Other projects include commercial, mixed-use and industrial developments and will vary in size and complexity. A focused and professional applicant is required for this role, with at least one years' post qualification experience. This experience need not be specific but an interest in energy would be advantageous. The ideal Planner will be RTPI accredited or will be working towards chartered status as a minimum. An excellent academic background is essential and qualifications should be RTPI accredited, including a masters in a relevant planning discipline.
