Our client who are a well-established ecological consultancy are now recruiting for an Experienced Ecologist to join their team in Derbyshire.

You will manage and deliver projects, this will include tendering for work, undertaking the full range of ecological baseline and protected surveys that we offer, and presenting results and recommendations for appropriate mitigation within well written reports.

The successful Ecologist will have
A degree in an appropriate discipline, ideally ecology or biology
Full or Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (MCIEEM or ACIEEM)
At least 2 years operating as a project manager within a consultancy setting and be confident liaising with clients, contractors and statutory authorities.
A sound knowledge of wildlife law, particularly in relation to the planning system and the Natural England development licence process.
Fully conversant with current best practice survey methodologies for protected species and be experienced in the field carrying out such surveys
Experience of designing and implementing appropriate mitigation for protected species, and will be expected to demonstrate this at interview.
Excellent technical report writing skills, and should also have experience of collating information for, and at At least one Level 1 EPS Survey Licence.
Must hold a full UK driving licence.

They also deal with protected species surveys and assessments and are currently looking for a Bat Ecologist to join their team. The successful Bat Ecologist will assist in co-ordinating baseline and further studies for a range of sites and species across the country.
