Water Treatment Technician

Our client is one of the UK's leading independent Water Treatment Companies providing services within Water Treatment / Water Hygiene and Effluent Treatment and they are currently looking to recruit a Water Treatment Technician to cover work in Surrey and surrounding areas

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
A clear understanding of L8, good understanding of basic monitoring tasks associated with L8
Computer Literate
Self-Motivated and Trustworthy
Reliable with good organisation & planning skills
Flexible approach to their work and confidential with customer and company information is essential

Day to day responsibilities include:
Temperature monitoring from domestic water treatment outlets, water calorifiers and cold storage water tanks
Legionella Sampling from cold storages water tanks and domestic water outlets
Flushing of rarely used outlets including emergency showers
Descale and disinfect showers and water outlets
Blowdown of calorifiers
Carry out tank inspections to required standards
Closed system testing analysis
Boiler checks
Potable samples
Safety delivery of samples for analysis within required time limits
Testing cooling towers
Cleaning
Weekly checks of cooling towers including drift eliminator checks, conductivity, PH etc
Maintaining customer records
Returning service sheets and call slips and returning to the office within 7 working days
Filling timesheets and productivity and sending to Service, Contracts and Training Academy Manager on a weekly basis
Following company procedures (vehicle, holiday etc)
Taking resamples when required
Respond to calls and emails in a timely manner
Up to date understanding of Approved Code of Practice L8 and Water Supply Regulation
Accurate recommendations and advice to the customs in line with L8 legislation
Computer Literacy in Excel, Work and Email
Effective communication, both within the company and with customers
Filling in and returning paperwork

Candidates will ideally live in Guildford, Woking, Weybridge, Leatherhead, Walton, Kingston, Ottershaw, Windsor, Byfleet Reading, Bracknell, Camberley, Aldershot, Wokingham

Experienced in planning and organising works, including monitoring and maintenance contracts, remedial works and risk assessment programs. Strong man management skills. A comprehensive knowledge of a variety of Legal and Industry guidance documents. Sales/negotiating skills would be advantageous.
