Our clients are an independent, multi-disciplinary construction consultancy with offices based in the West Midlands, London & the South Coast. They provide a range of cost consultancy and project management services throughout various sectors. They are currently looking for an intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their team in the West Midlands.

The Quantity Surveyor will be capable of working with the minimum of supervision in all areas of Cost Management including but not limited to:
-Preparing budget estimates/cost plans
-Preparation of tender documents, tender evaluation and reports
-Cost reports and final accounts
-Effective variation control
-Reporting direct to clients including presentations
-Relevant Degree (preferably RICS accredited)
-MRICS or desire to become chartered
-Good IT literacy, particularly in respect of preparing spreadsheets
-Excellent standards of numeracy and literacy skills
-Ability to communicate effectively at a high technical level with members of the design team
-Capable of working to strict targets and timescales
-Robust and strong attitude to negotiations with contractors
-Ability to challenge designs and suggest sustainable alternative economic design solutions, and communicate with design team
-At least 3 years experience of Cost Management that will demonstrate the duties can be carried out as stated
-Professional, self-motivated and proactive with excellent organisational skills
-Ability to communicate confidently with clients, contractors and consultants
-Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision but also work effectively within a team
-Ability to prioritise workload and meet stringent deadlines with a flexible attitude to work
