The Ecologist role will involve undertaking and managing ecological project work as well as the strategic development of ecological studies and the production of habitat and species management plans. Other duties will include developing methods in habitat creation and restoration as part of the planning process, overseeing various components of EIAs and developing existing and potential client relationships.
In order to be considered for the Ecologist role, applicants must have a relevant degree in a biological science and have professional experience of ecological survey and assessment. This experience should ideally have involved NVC surveys as well as Phase 1 and 2 habitat surveys. At least one protected species licence is also required as is working knowledge of the EIA process. A proven track record in business development would be an advantage.
