My client is a multi-disciplinary Consultancy who, due to departmental expansion, is looking to take on a Building Surveyor to advise clients on design and construction of new buildings, also advising on maintenance and repair of existing buildings.
The ideal candidate must have the following:
> Degree in Building Surveying
> At least 1 years' experience as a Building Surveyor
> Ideally have experience in valuation, working in a multi-disciplined environment
> Must have good problem solving skills
> Comprehensive knowledge of building regulations with good understanding of planning legislation and health & safety
You will be advising clients on schemes and projects to determine requirements, on energy efficiency, environmental impact and sustainable construction as well as the management and supervision of maintenance of buildings.
You will also be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on budget and to schedule. Preparing scheme designs with costings, programmes for completion of projects and specification of works. You will be organising documents for tender and advising on appointing contractors, designers and procurement routes. You will determine the condition of existing buildings, identifying and analysing defects, including proposals for repair.
