An Independent Consultancy practice are seeking to recruit an Assistant Ecologist to join their team in North Yorkshire.
Undertake site assessment, desk study and report writing with support from other team members
-Assist other project team members, subcontractors and seasonal staff in surveys for a range of species
-Provide support for Ecological Impact Assessments and Habitat Regulations Assessments
-Liaise with colleagues, contractors and clients to ensure effective project delivery
-Develop your technical and consultancy skills
The successful applicant will have:
-Previous experience as a Graduate Ecologist in a consultancy or advisory role
-A degree in ecology/biological conservation (or similar) and preferably a Masters degree
-Experience of ecological field work including Phase 1 habitat survey and some protected species survey capability.
-A protected species survey licence would be an advantage
Candidate must be able to be flexible over travel and hours, especially during spring/summer survey season when there can be expected to be some requirement to be available to work in the evenings/early mornings and to be away from home.
